Aquascutum History:    

Original Penguin is an apparel company that sells clothing, footwear, and eyewear. It was established in 1955 by Munsingwear, a Minneapolis-based underwear and military garment store, when it introduced the original Original Penguin golf-shirt in the United States. It became a staple in suburban leisure until well into the 1980s.

To popularize the brand and logo, they sent various golf players two-dozen shirts, which they wore during tournaments. The first television ads featured Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.

The brand was bought by Perry Ellis in 1996, and a brand new sportswear collection was released in Spring 2003. Today, Original Penguin is sold in numerous upscale and trendy boutiques, including Barneys New York, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters and David Jones.
