Harford was rumored to be the only player at Wimbledon who was never put through the infamous ‘crazy gang’ initiation. Despite it being compulsory for any new Wimbledon player, no one ever plucked up the courage to try and put Harford through it which was probably due to his no nonsense reputation. Harford was truly as hard as nails.
