Aquascutum History:     John Emary founded Aquascutum at a tailer shop in London in 1851. The name of the brand comes from two Latin words "Aqua" meaning water and "Scutum" meaning shield (so in other words waterproof). In the early days Aquascutum was used mainly by British military officers during the Crimean war.

 Years later  during World War I the company provided waterproof trenchcoats to the Army.

In 1953 Sir Edmund Hillary conquered Mount Everest with the help of Aquascutum's trusty garments.

Since the 1960's Aquascutum has expanded around the world  including Europe, USA, Japan  and Canada.
